This project, for an Atlanta-based publicly held company, was an upgrade/conversion of an existing Tier 1 facility to a Tier 3 data center to include a new 6,000 square foot building with the capacity for 5 generators and fuel containment areas. The initial utility backup included three 2.5MW paralleled standby generators connected in N+1 configuration. UPS backup was provided by two 2700kVa units in N+1 configuration with growth capacity for an additional 2700kVa unit. Also included was a new 2,800 ton central plant, including new double loop mains throughout the existing occupied data center, and replacement/addition of 48 CRAC units for the new load profile of the data center. Work included four new 700-ton cooling towers. Two were set on existing retrofitted concrete basins, and two were set on new concrete basins. Chillers included two new 700 ton and two existing 350-ton chillers.
