Kristen Smith

Marketing Coordinator

Kristen Smith joined Humphries and Company as a Marketing Coordinator in 2019. Prior to Humphries and Company, Kristen’s experience includes five years of marketing and leveraging productive business partnerships with key industry personnel. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Kennesaw State University majoring in Communications and Applied Advertising. Throughout her career, she has focused on developing, managing, and initiating brand building and identity creation.

Outside of work Kristen enjoys time with her dog, golfing, cooking, and traveling.

Luke Guyette

Senior Project Manager

Luke Guyette, Senior Project Manager for Humphries and Company, joined us in 2014. Luke has been in the industry since 2005, and came to Humphries after working for several other General Contractors. Luke is OSHA 30 certified and is a part of NAIOP and CoreNet.

Luke lives in Sandy Springs with his wife and 3 kids. In his free time you can find Luke spending time with his family, rafting, riding his dirt bike, and playing golf.

Steve Little

Senior Project Manager

Steve Little joined Humphries and Company in 2013. Steve specializes in corporate interiors and has handled the pre-construction, scheduling and management from start to finish on a variety of project types including high-end corporate headquarters, childcare facilities, research and development facilities, medical laboratories, industrial build-outs and more.

Steve is a LEED Accredited Professional with a specialization in interior design and construction (ID+C). As a Senior Project Manager, his goal on each and every project is to provide an end-product that the tenant, owner, and architect will be proud to attach their name to.

Originally from Atlanta, Steve graduated from Auburn University and now resides with his wife and two children in Buckhead.

Tim Thornton

Preconstruction Manager

Tim Thornton joined Humphries and Company in 1995. Tim has been estimating for over 34 years, 10 years in the base building market and 19 with Humphries and Company. Over these years in the industry, he has successfully estimated many of Humphries’ high-profile projects. Tim has established a stellar reputation with owners, architects, and vendors as being fair and consistent. He graduated from Southern Technical Institute in Marietta, now Kennesaw State University. His role is to provide accurate and consistent estimates from the budgeting stages through final CD pricing.

Tim and his wife live in Marietta, Georgia. His interests are gardening, DIY home projects, enjoying the lake, and Georgia Tech Basketball.

Melissa Read

Senior Estimator

Melissa Read, Senior Estimator, joined Humphries and Company in 2004 and has been in the industry for over 18 years. Melissa is a LEED Accredited Professional and a member of Commercial Real Estate Women of Atlanta (CREW).

To date, Melissa says her biggest accomplishment was pricing 17 floors for the CompuCredit project at Concourse.

Melissa is a single mom of 2 children. In her free time, Melissa enjoys photography and playing tennis. Her favorite things to do in Atlanta are going to festivals, concerts, and eating at all of the delicious restaurants around town.

Kelsey Cook

Project Manager

Kelsey Cook, Project Manager, has been with Humphries and Company since 2015. She received a degree in Architecture from Clemson and holds an OSHA 30 certification. She feels her greatest accomplishment since joining Humphries is completing the Intercontinental Hotel Group renovation.

Kelsey was born and raised in Atlanta and enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, baking, and going to concerts.

Jordan Clark

Project Manager

Jordan Clark, Project Manager, joined Humphries and Company in 2018. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in Building Construction in 2011 and has been in the construction industry ever since. Jordan holds several certifications, including OSHA 10 and OSHA 30.

Jordan lives in West Midtown with his wife. In his free time, Jordan enjoys playing golf, mountain biking, hiking, and other outdoor activities. His favorite part of Atlanta is exploring the restaurant scene and finding new places to eat.

Preston Nave

Senior Project Manager

Preston Nave is a Senior Project Manager for Humphries and Company. He joined Humphries in 2011 and brings more than 16 years of construction experience to his position. Prior to working for Humphries, he worked as a Project Manager for one of the largest commercial real estate companies in the country. Preston focuses on developing and maintaining customer relationships, managing complex corporate interior projects and asset repositioning projects throughout Atlanta. Preston received his undergraduate degree in Business from OSU.

Preston lives in Alpharetta with his wife and three children. In his free time, Preston enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.

Steve Williams

Senior Project Manager

Steve “Trigger” Williams joined Humphries and Company as Project Manager in 2010. With almost 40 years in the Atlanta construction industry, Steve brings great knowledge and expertise to our firm. Steve is a graduate of the University of Georgia and holds multiple certifications, including: State of Georgia Licensed Contractor, OSHA 30, ASHE Healthcare Construction Certificate, and US Army Reserve LTC Retired.

Steve notes that his biggest accomplishment since working at Humphries is building customer relationships and delivering quality products on schedule and within budget.

Steve is a third generation Atlanta native and now lives in Sandy Springs with his wife. They have three children who are all grown. In his free time, Steve is a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America and enjoys watching football, lacrosse, and rugby. Steve loves military history and visiting the battle sites around Atlanta and North Georgia.

Joey Phelan

Business Developer

Joey Phelan joined Humphries and Company in 1994 following a seven-year career at McDevitt & Street as Vice President of Business Development. He graduated from the University of West Georgia. His role is to manage and regularly contact architects, project managers, leasing brokers, building owners, and corporate firms. Joey also tracks projects from their identification throughout the Bid and RFP process.

Joey now lives in Athens, Georgia with his wife Jill, their horses, and 8 rescue dogs.

Sonya Sanford

Controller

Sonya Sanford joined Humphries and Company as Controller in 2019. Prior to Humphries and Company, Sonya’s experience includes more than 20 years of finance and accounting leadership across various industries including construction, manufacturing and distribution. Throughout her career she has focused on developing, managing and achieving financial and accounting objectives, team leadership and change management. Sonya earned her undergraduate degree in Finance from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Outside of work, Sonya enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters, running, traveling, and playing violin.

Garth Snider

Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel

Garth Snider serves as the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel at Humphries and Company. He joined the Humphries team in 2012 and has been practicing construction law since 1997. Garth is a proud graduate of the University of Georgia and later went on to receive his J.D. in 1995 at Emory University. Garth is OSHA 500 certified and is the head of the safety program at Humphries.

Garth lives in Marietta with his wife and two children. In his free time you can find him either on the streets of Atlanta running or coaching youth sports.

Paul King

Managing Partner

Paul joined Humphries and Company in 2003 and became partner in 2006. He holds a State of Georgia Commercial General Contractor’s license and offers more than 25 years’ of experience managing commercial construction projects. Outside of the partner duties, Paul leads one of the market’s top project management teams. Over many years in the industry, he has successfully managed numerous high-profile and award winning projects. Paul has established a stellar reputation with owners, architects, and vendors as being fair and dependable.

Paul and his family live in Sandy Springs. He is involved in several non-profit organizations and enjoys many outdoor activities.

Scott Moore

Managing Partner

Scott joined Humphries and Company in 1985 after receiving a BS in Business Management from Georgia State University. He became a partner in the business in 1999 and his primary role has been project management and business development. In his many years as one of Humphries’ key project managers, Scott has successfully completed over 800 projects in more than 125 buildings in the greater Atlanta area. Scott was the project manager for the Arthur Blank Family Foundation Project, Georgia’s first LEED-Gold certified project. In 2006, he became our first LEED Accredited Professional and continues to lead sustainable initiatives for the company.

Scott enjoys traveling with family and friends both home and abroad. His extracurricular activities include snow skiing, snowmobiling, bird hunting, sport fishing, glamping, and being as much a part of his kids sporting activities and events as possible. Scott resides in Sandy Springs with his wife of more than 20 years and his two children.

Bobby Sharitz

Managing Partner

Bobby Sharitz is a Managing Partner and Project Manager at Humphries and Company. He joined the Humphries team in 1995 after working for a base building contractor in the Atlanta area. In his role as Project Manager, Bobby has taken the lead in managing our relationships with many of Humphries’ biggest clients. He is a proud graduate of Virginia Tech where he majored in Building Construction.

Bobby has lived in Atlanta his entire life and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else! He currently resides in Smyrna with his wife and they have two children who are both Virginia Tech grads as well. In Bobby’s free time, he enjoys playing golf and enjoying activities at the lake.

Kirk Thompson

Managing Partner

Kirk Thompson is a Managing Partner and Project Manager here at Humphries and Company. Kirk started in the construction industry in 1993, the year he joined Humphries. Kirk is a proud graduate of the University of Richmond, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in History and Economics, as well as the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he received his degree in Civil Engineering. Over the years, Kirk has been involved in several networking groups, including BOMA, NAIOP, and CREW. Kirk’s industry certifications include OSHA 30 and LEED Green Associate.

Kirk lives in Buckhead with his wife, two kids, and two dogs. In Kirk’s free time, he enjoys traveling with his family, hanging out with his kids, mountain biking, and playing the guitar.

Palak Sabharwal

Estimator

Palak Sabharwal, Estimator, joined Humphries and Company in early 2017. Palak has been in the construction industry for three years ever since finishing school. Originally from India, Palak did her undergraduate studies in India and then completed her masters at the University of Florida in 2016. Palak holds several certifications including LEED GA, OSHA 30, and First Aid CPR AED.

Palak lives in Smyrna with her husband. She says her favorite thing about Atlanta are all of the social options including restaurants, concerts, and parks. Palak says that life in Atlanta reminds her of India sometimes with the city life and day-to-day hustle. She loves Atlanta and says it feels like home to her!
